HOW AND WHY TO DEAL WITH US
We've been around for 24 years now. We have no ambition to be huge. All we seek is to be happily and honestly employed selling you the best value fishing tackle we can source. We are proud to be able to state that we have never knowingly stiffed any customer no matter how much they asked for it !
Our major problem is that we suffer from a huge depth of knowledge of almost all aspects of trout fishing (and a few other specialisms ). We are particularly strong on Flydressing and Specialist Equipment; Flyrods, Flylines and Casting, Stillwater Boat Bank and Floattube Flyfishing, even Flyreels and all sensible accessories. Our knowledge and professionalism reflect in the restricted range of what we stock. If it isn't up to it we won't touch it.
If it is the very best we have no compunction in sourcing it from outside the UK
Our main business is in making and supplying fishing tackle into the Wholesale Trade. There aren't that many of us left in the UK making fishing tackle. We are violently pro British and anti poor value worldwide copyists and low level forgers - we know that if we buy British we Export Unemployment - we like doing just that. We Tie Flies, Handmake Rods, Machine Floattubes and a very wide range of ancilliary equipment , we Source, Treat and Dye a vast range of Flydressing Materials, we Commission other Manufacturers to Produce for us to our own Designs. We are more interested in solving our own Fishing problems than getting rich!
And also we will admit to being viciously partial to Wholesalers and Manufacturers, if we don't like them or what they stand for we don't touch their gear.
We know the difference between Fishing Tackle and nonFishing Tackle - we don't sell the latter. And we detest overmarketting and will point out to everybody that the worst advertising copy always stems from non-users - there are a lot of nonfishermen making tackle and palming it off - right round the World!
We fish a lot and our arrogant - seeming attitude stems from this. We'll test it before we sell it and if it isn't any good not only don't we stock it - we'll tell you why in words of one syllable. We can be wrong but it is a rarity!
We don't follow the latest fashions until we have tried them personally - most new gear entering the fishing market has been either undertested or just plain untested.
So bear with us if we ask you what you want it for instead of just taking your order. We are trying to get you the best most professional solution to your requirement and it will always be the cheapest in the long run. We always specially help Disabled Flyfishers.
Your business is not big enough to make us tell you lies - honesty is our policy at all times. We spend time talking our Customers out of the tackle they thought they wanted - this isn't a recipe for financial success but, so what, we keep on going!
